A VERY SAD CHRISTIAN STORY
James Slayton
Back in 1992, I came back to Church after backslidding for about five years. Things took off almost immediately. I got involved in several church functions and was meeting new people. I could hardly wait for the next service to start. Finally, I met a very nice lady that I fell almost in love with immediately. Everything I learned about her just made me love her that much more. I did everything I could to show her how much I liked her, including trying to sit by her in church as much as possible. Eventually, some of her close friends started misunderstanding my actions and said some evil stuff about me that later she found out to be untrue. I was forced to leave during this time, but I had plans of coming back within a few months.
After two or three weeks of being gone, I found out that she was very sad that I had left and would be estastic if I returned. She was very sorry for believing the evil things about me, and even said to someone that she felt like she was beginning to love me as well.
Before going back, I ran into a prophet that said that if I waited, wonderful things would happen beyond my imagination (I am leaving out the specific details). He just told me that all I had to do was wait, and those wonderful things would come about.
So, after a few months, nothing happened. I called the prophet back up, and he said that his prophecy was from God and that those things were going to happen. So, I waited and waited and waited. I called this prophet many many times, even cursing him out, but he still said that his prophecy was from God and that it was still going to come about.
Now, that was back in 1992, this is now 1999 and things have only turned for the worse. The lady I wanted to marry has already gotten married to someone else. When I talked to the prophet about this, he said he knew that it was going to happen, but couldn't tell me. He said that the things he prophecied are still on their way, that I just had to wait.
I have suffered untold misery over this, and am continuing to do so. You see, that prophet is me.
